Veterinary Surgeon required at Hallam Veterinary Centre, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

The Role

This role offers a good grasp of routine surgical procedures and dentistry is preferred, although these skills can be developed. There are plenty of opportunities to pick up both medical and surgical cases.

About Us

We are a well-established first opinion small animal practice in North West Sheffield on the edge of The Peak District National Park, looking
for an additional Full Time vet to join our team. We value our time off and The Outdoor City gives plenty of opportunity to pursue the huge range of activities that are available on the doorstep. You will join our experienced team of 6 full time and 5 part time vets, and an experienced Nursing team.

We see a varied caseload and have enough experience in house to deal with most cases; orthopaedics, imaging, and cardiology are confidently catered for. We offer a certificate-holder level cardiology referral service to local practices. We have digital radiography, dental radiography, well-specced ultrasound, all the usual laboratory and surgical equipment. 4 air-conditioned consulting rooms and 3 air-conditioned theatres.

6 FT, 5 PT, 8 FTE nurses, 1 Cardio Cert holder, no specialists. We have vets working towards imaging, feline medicine, and surgery qualifica-tions. We are a nurse training practice and have nurses with qualifica-tions and interests in Feline Medicine, Feline Behaviour, Dentistry, and ECC.

Candidate Requirements

The position would suit someone with post graduate experience who is keen to develop skills further, however candidates with all levels of experience will be considered. You should be confident managing common medical cases and being able to perform routine surgical and dental procedures.
