Veterinary Surgeon

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and
dedicated team. The position would be 38 hours per week on shifts from Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm with a half day plus 1 Saturday in 3 working (6 hours). No out of hours. We have three branches so one vet starts consulting at each branch then the Findon vet comes back to the main branch and after coffee 2 vets do non sterile procedures up to lunch. Another vet does sterile operations all morning and each vet has a morning a week for this. In the afternoon we all consult at the 3 branches and someone has a half day.

We are in a coastal town near to the South Downs. We have 3 branches but only the main one has surgical facilities. We are a general practice with a wide range of first opinion appointments for small animals and
a few exotics. We are a friendly team with a big staff room allowing generous breaks and downtime to reduce stress. We support several local charities and have raised money for them. We have ultrasound, dental x-rays, digital x ray, multi parameter GA monitoring and a bronchoscope.

We have 6 vets and 6 nurses. One vet is in her 2nd year of an imaging certificate. One nurse is doing an advanced qualification. We have no specialists. We have connections to several rescue charities and did several fund raisers pre covid. We are more relaxed than other vets we know about and try to ensure breaks. We are supportive to new vets and our previous students have stayed on.

We feel we could support a new graduate or recently qualified vet at the moment. We want someone keen to learn and friendly with good people skills. They need good communication skills and must be a MRCVS. We can provide a coach and plenty of support.
