Job Details

Veterinary Surgeon required at Woodside Vet Group, Banchory, Aberdeenshire

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Woodside Vet Group! Typical day is 9-5, the main surgery
is based in the village of Torphins about 7 miles from Banchory.

Consultations and operations are scheduled in the morning, whilst outdoors a range of farm animals await. The branch surgeries at Banchory and Aboyne are consult only branches and are just a 10-minute easy drive away. All consultations are by appointment only.

Your day can be planned in advance whether you are looking to consult, operate or do routine farm work. Farm work is mostly on family run beef and sheep farms. A small percentage of the case load is equine first opinion. TB testing is minimal.

Full support will be given to new or recent graduates if required.

About Us

We are a friendly young (ish) team of 7 vets with excellent nurses and support staff.

The main surgery is a modern building with plentiful parking on the edge of Torphins village.

We have all the usual equipment such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house blood analysis, small animal endoscope.

Royal Deeside is an area of outstanding natural beauty lying midway between the city of Aberdeen and the Cairngorms. There is ample scope for hill walking, skiing, fishing in one direction, with all the attractions of the city just half an hour away the other.

The rota always has a backup vet so there is support at hand.

A team of 7 vets, one vet currently studying towards an ophthalmology certificate.

We have a broad range of experience in mixed practice.

Our aim is to provide the best first opinion care we can to all our patients.

A team of three nurses and two care assistants provide the banter. We are a nurse training practice.

We aim to be part of the vibrant local community, although as with other walks of life this has been curtailed over the last year.
