Veterinary Statistician

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Veterinary Statistician. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for providing statistical support in both clinical and business research.

We have veterinary practices in the areas of small animals, equine, farm and specialist small animal referrals. In addition, we have two large diagnostic laboratories providing clinical pathology and histopathology services. All of these areas conduct clinical research to a varied degree. For example, the Referrals, Equine and Laboratories divisions have specialists who conduct research as well as residents and interns who need to produce research outputs. In your role, you will provide statistical leadership and support in study design, data analysis, and authorship of reports and manuscripts to those conducting such research within the company.

In addition to clinical research, you will also be involved in applying robust statistical methods to understand commercial data, provide insights into customer behaviour and produce evidence-based commercial initiatives.

To be successful in the role, you will be/ will be able to demonstrate:
  • Expert leadership capabilities to be able to lead and direct project work
  • Extensive experience of development, programme design and data analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent collaboration skills required with the ability to work across geographical and functional boundaries, both internally and externally
  • The ability to apply statistical expertise to complex problems, problem solving and quality focus
  • Comfortable with a range of statistical methods used in clinical research
  • Comfortable with statistical software packages commonly used in clinical research
  • Experienced in authorship of peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • PhD in Statistics or Mathematics (containing a substantial statistical component) preferred with experience in veterinary medicine, healthcare or other relevant area

Location – In the role, you can be home or office-based (we have offices in various locations in the UK) with some travel being required to attend key meetings.
