Fantastic Clinical & Leadership opportunity

Are you looking for a change in career path to enable development in a managerial and leadership capacity whilst still keeping your hand in as an equine vet?

We have an excellent opportunity to work with the existing clinical director to lead an enthusiastic and fun team of vets, nurses and office staff at The Equine Veterinary Centre. The role would involve managing the day to day running of the clinic and establishing long term strategies for the business, as well as continuing your equine veterinary interests. The existing CD is extremely easy going and will support your development. Additional training and support is readily available and will be encouraged through the resources at CVS. The position would evolve into a full CD role for the right candidate.

If management is not your thing yet, then we would be more than happy to accommodate an additional equine vet to join our team, so please read on also!

The Equine Veterinary Centre, based in the beautiful county of Yorkshire. The clinic is closely located to the vibrant cities of Sheffield and Leeds(you have never been on a night out unless you have been to Leeds!), whilst York (one of the top rated tourist cities in the UK) is a 40min drive away. We are surrounded by open countryside and are also within easy travel to the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors to satisfy any of your outdoor pursuits. If you like jet setting, Leeds Bradford and Doncaster-Sheffield airports are on our doorstep whilst we are conveniently positioned next to the major motorways connecting North/South and East/West of the country.

We are a progressive 5 vet predominantly ambulatory practice. Clientele mostly consists of pleasure horse owners and the work load is varied. We have in-patient facilities for lameness and medical workups on site, including access to a large indoor arena. We have all the usual modern equipment such as DR X-ray, ultrasounds, endoscope, gastroscope, shockwave, motorised dental equipment etc.

We work a 4 day working week, (the same day off each week) with first appointments booked between 9-9:30am and last appointments scheduled to finish by 17:30pm. We block out time in the diary for the scheduled after hours vet from 16:30 to minimise disruption to remaining vets for when the dreaded 17:29 colic phones in!

We share an after hours rota between the 5 vets enabling a good work life balance. Time will be allocated for managerial tasks.

Salary would be based on experience,

Up to 2 years experience, £31, 000 - 40,000 (4 day non compressed working week)

2-5 years experience, £36,000 - £45,000 (4 day non compressed working week)

5+ years experience £45,000 + (4 day non compressed working week)

Additional benefits include,
  • Up to 7 weeks holiday a year with our Buy, Sell Holiday Scheme (or equivalent time off if on rota).
  • Bonus scheme.
  • Company pension and an industry-leading sharesave scheme.
  • Private healthcare
  • Annual CPD allowance (financial and dedicated days off for CPD) and RCVS registration.
  • Additionally, we are passionate about clinical development and will fully support and fund study towards further qualifications.
  • We are also able to offer generous financial support towards relocation.

This is a fabulous opportunity to add to your existing skills and take your career to the next level. Opportunities like this do not come around often so don't hesitate!
