Equine Head Veterinary Nurse required at Pool House Veterinary Group, Lichfield, Staffordshire

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team here at Pool House Veterinary Group. We require a full time Equine Veterinary nurse to join our forward thinking and motivated team. You will be joining a progres-sive practice with state-of-the-art facilities and a team of specialist vets who see a wide and varied caseload. A successful applicant would work within this team of vets and nurses providing a consistent high level of inpatient care. The role will involve all aspects of nursing care and management across a wide range of disciplines including theatre, standing surgery, intensive care, dental, medicine and lameness investigation.

About Us

Pool House Equine Clinic is a busy referral practice with 17 vets and 5 nurses. We are a fully equipped Clinic carrying out MRI, ultrasonography, radiography, surgery, lameness investigation, advanced dental proce-dures, endoscopy, laparoscopy, sinoscopy, PENS therapy and many other procedures on a daily basis. We have a fully equipped laboratory on site. We provide a 24hr on-call service and carry out referral surgical procedures on a routine and emergency basis. We are a clinical associate teaching practice with the University of Nottingham and offer on the road routine treatments, vaccinations, dental both routine and advanced treatments, remedial farrier service and veterinary support of several external events.

Applicant Requirements

Experience in equine nursing is essential and previous leadership experience is preferred but not essential. Nurses are supported to reach their full potential and encouraged to further develop. A strong work ethic and a desire to provide a high-quality service to our clients is vital, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. The successful applicant must be able to work both independently and lead a team alongside other nurses and vets.
