Job Details

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our 1st opinion team. Their time will be split between seeing small animal consultations, performing elective and emergency surgery and assisting with the management of our hospital inpatients. Depending upon the level of experience with emergency work, they will either have a fully supported role as part of our twilight team working alongside an experienced ECC clinician as part of the Norwich Night Vet Emergency service or they may be included in the full night team rota. They will also provide a supportive role in assisting with our growing certificate level referral work.

We are an established 1st opinion, referral and dedicated OOH ECC RCVS accredited hospital in Norwich. We have a purpose-built award-winning building and our current 30 vets hold certificates in ECC, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology, Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging. We have an intern training program, orthopaedic training program and an exciting extension in the planning. Weekly cli-nical meetings and morning rounds make for a stimulating and suppor-tive environment. This is backed up by a comprehensive lab, shiny new Storz rigid and flexible endoscopy kit, hydrotherapy/physio suite, DR digital X-Ray, Dental Xray, Vivid 7/Mylab Ultrasounds, laparoscopic equipment and a full range of orthopaedic equipment. CT is on its way too!

We have lots of advanced practitioners and certificate holders as well as many vets pursuing further qualifications. We also have roles supervising our intern training program and our EMS students. The culture is very much of helping each other out and working together. We have found that through maintaining our ethos of treating patients to a high stan-dard, working as a team and looking after each other and our clients we have continued to attract like-minded individuals on each of our teams. Our VN team is second to none with an organised training structure from ANA trainees through to our senior VNs.

The successful candidate will have experience which ideally would include some experience of emergency work. They need to be competent in routine neutering surgery. Above all they must be enthusiastic to learn and dedicated to providing an exceptional level of care for our clients and their patients. If you want a lively stimulating atmosphere with plenty of interesting work combined with lots of time to rest to enjoy the wonders of Norfolk and the occasional Tequila please apply.
