Vacancy for Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with Cardiology Bias

Due to a colleague moving into referral practice, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established practice in South Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high level care, and be happy working in both large and small teams.

We have a consistent caseload of cardiology cases, averaging around 10 echos/week. We have recently extended our cardiology suite which is complete with brand new Vivid IQ scanner (with additional 3Sc-RS and 12S-RS probes), as well as digital x-ray, ECG and Doppler BP. To facilitate work-up of more complex cases, endoscopy, CT and hospitalisation facilities are available at our 24-hour, certificate holder led hospital 3 miles away. An existing certificate holder would be ideal but we would also consider somebody part-way through a certificate with the right practical skill-set as support is available.

Currently our cardiologist works a 4 day week, with a ratio of approximately 80% cardiology referrals to 20% first opinion work, however we are looking to continue growing the cardiology service. For this reason candidates looking for both full-time (4 or 5 day week) and part-time roles would be considered, with FT salary up to £75k, dependant on experience.

Weekend daytime work is undertaken on a rota basis. Package includes RCVS and VDS cover, pension, SAYE scheme and Perkbox and much more.
