Job Details

Registered Veterinary Nurse or 2nd Year SVN required at Hunt’s Vets, Poynton, Stockport

The Role

Are you like others and feeling a bit flummoxed with the world? Things have got to get better haven’t they? Indeed, they will… and they are at Hunt’s anyway! Move from Languishing to Flourishing!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse or second year student soon to qualify, for our expanding team. We want someone who is looking to be able to make their mark and contribute to the smooth running of the clinics. Someone who wants to stretch their wings and grow with us. You will be supported in fulfilling your oath to animal care and welfare by contributing to the high practice standards and procedures already in place. You should be proficient in both surgical and medical nursing, work well as an individual but also be
able to integrate well within the team, hardworking and reliable.

Rota Pattern:

40 hours per week on a full-time basis but we will consider part time options.

  • Shift times; 8am - 6pm or 8.30am - 6.30pm with a rota that can be very flexible if required.
  • Saturdays are 1 in 4 (8am-4pm shift), with scope to work 2 in 4 if preferred, with time off in the week if you cover these shifts.
  • There are no OOH’s to cover or bank holiday requirements.

About Us

All three of our sites are just a short distance from the centre of Manchester for those of you that like the hustle and bustle of the City, but also just a short journey out to the beautiful Peak District National Park. Geographically, a perfect location to lay down roots! We are really lucky to be based in a fantastic location!

The main branch at Poynton is a purpose-built building and is lovely and airy. The Woodley branch is a converted house with the practice based on the ground floor so no up and down stairs with big dogs! The Cheadle branch is a stand-alone consulting only branch and extremely busy.

Hunt’s Veterinary Clinics first opened its doors in 1966 & although we were originally mixed practice we converted our clinics to cover small animal only in November 1997 and we’ve been caring for small animals ever since. We are an RCVS accredited small animal practice. Each site is furnished to a high specification so that our high standards of care are uniform across all three sites.

Applicant Requirements

We are a multi-site, small animal, first opinion practice who want an additional RVN or second year student soon to qualify, for our expanding team! Accommodation is also available and can be discussed further at interview stage.

You will be joining a very supportive team who are committed to staff wellbeing and animal welfare. This is really important to us and you will find yourself amongst people with strong team ethics and who like a good laugh too!
