Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Wexham
We are seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our fantastic clinic in Wexham.
This role requires an experienced Vet, competent in all routine soft tissue surgeries and medical case management. Experience in managing a team would be beneficial as well as an interest in surgery, although not essential.
We seeking someone who takes pride in providing high levels of service and keen to build up client relationships to drive this clinic forward. Branch partnership opportunities are also available for the right candidate!
Salary and benefits:
This role offers a salary of up to £57,700 per annum, depending on experience (includes £10,200 housing allowance, vehicle or £2,500 allowance)
Plus £1,500 CPD allowance plus 3-days CPD leave, RCVS, VDS and BVA membership. 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays. Accommodation on-site is also available!

Hours and rota:
We work to a 4-day week (09:00-19:00) with 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends at our Watford 24-hr hospital.
You will have a fair share of bank holiday duties and minimal on-call duties, to support our dedicated night team if required (approx. 3 weeks of the year).
- Leading other vets and clinic team
- Ensuring clinic performance is maintained and grown
- Building strong client relationships
- Liaising with regional managers regarding clinic performance
- Clinical management of own case load and providing clinical support to other staff members
Medivet Wexham is a sole vet practice with potential to become a 1.5 Vet practice in the future. Mobile and Graduate Veterinary Surgeons also visit this clinic.
The nursing and support team is made up of Student Veterinary Nurse and Practice Coordinator/SVN.
The practice is equipped with separate cat and dog wards, in-house lab and x-ray. Medivet Wexham feeds into our Watford 24-hr hospital. Here, will also have access to diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, dental X-ray and a full orthopaedic theatre.
Our 7 hospital vets are always on hand to help you work up tricky cases and provide advanced surgical procedures for your patients. You are welcome to come along and assist, or learn how to perform these procedures yourself. And, of course, the hospital provides 24-hour care, with a vet and 2 support staff on duty all night, every night.
