OOH Veterinary Surgeon
We are looking for an OOH Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team! This is a highly rewarding job, dealing with a wide variety of urgent and critical medical and surgical cases. Inpatient care for a high-end first opinion practice with plenty of time off to enjoy the pleasures of life with excellent renumeration! The role includes working Saturday afternoons, Sunday days, bank holidays and nights.
Providing OOH cover for most of the practices in Cheltenham, Chelvets is based at the Dragon Vet Centre and boasts hi-tech equipment including a GE 16-slice CT, High quality Doppler ultrasound (GE) with a wide range of abdominal and cardiac probes, multiple multi-parameter monitors, rigid and flexible endoscopy and full lab facilities including blood gas. All out equipment is available to OOH staff and use is encouraged.
With 14 vets and 20 nurses, we are a busy first opinion practice, regularly performing referral level work such as TPLO's, thoracotomies and imaging such as CT, endoscopy and echocardiography. We have several RCVS Advanced practitioners in small animal surgery, cardiology and internal medicine and our nurses hold qualifications in nutrition and behaviour.
You will be competent with sole charge, dealing with emergency medical and surgical presentations.
