Job Details

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to support our Cockfosters and Potters Bar practices. 

This role requires a motivated Veterinary Surgeon with the desire to practice veterinary medicine to the highest standard. You will be confident working as part of a team, with the ability to make sound clinical judgement if required to work sole charge. A degree of flexibility is needed as sometimes you may be required to work in other branches across the Enfield region.

This role works to a 4-day week rota with 1 in 3 Saturdays. 

You will be expected to take part in the weekend, bank holiday and on-call rota's for the region. On average these work out at 2 weeks per year on-call, 2 bank holidays per year and 2-3 additional Saturdays per year.

Salary & Benefits:

Competitive salary package dependent on experience, to include:

-Basic salary £30,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

-£10,200 accommodation allowance per annum

-Vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance per annum

-£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave per annum

-VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

-5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays per annum

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Branch:

Medivet Cockfosters is led by Lead Veterinary Surgeon Alexandra, our friendly and dedicated team consists of two Veterinary Surgeons and a nursing team of three. The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including digital X-rays, ultrasound machine, dental machine, endoscope and blood machines.

Conveniently situated on the high street Medivet Cockfosters is surrounded by a variety of shops and eateries. The area is easily commutable with the M25 and A406 only a few miles away, Cockfosters Underground Station is also only a five-minute walk to the practice.

Medivet Potters Bar is a small and friendly practice led by Veterinary Surgeon and Branch Partner Thea Gardner who holds a post-graduate certificate in small animal medicine. We're proud to offer a full range of veterinary services and facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, dentistry and operating facilities. Our dedicated team consists of two Veterinary Surgeons and a nursing team of three. 

The practice is situated in a prime location on the high street with nearby amenities. The M25 is a short drive away from the practice and Potters Bar train station a 15-minute walk away, making this area a commuter’s paradise! 

All clinics feed into our 24-hour hospital in Enfield where our dedicated night team manage all out-of-hour care.

This position will give you exposure to a variety of cases whilst getting the opportunity to use state-of-the-art technology including orthopaedic theatre, digital x-rays, ultrasound, in-house bloods, ISTAT and multi-parameter unites, with easy access to MRI, CT (at Hendon 24 Hour hospital) and laparoscopic surgery (at Enfield 24 Hour hospital).
