The Role

Here at White Cross we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal practice on a full-time basis. We are looking for a passionate, hard-working and motivated individual to assist in both consults and surgeries. Our nurse roles are varied and involve equal shares of nurse consults, post-op checks, weight and senior clinics and inpatient care. You’ll have time in theatre performing a variety of ops including routines, orthopaedic and boas surgery. We also try and delegate one non-clinical role to each nurse (stock control or insurance forms for example). To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about providing high quality clinical care to all pets. You will provide an outstanding client experience and help to create and maintain an efficient clinic. The successful candidate will uphold and adhere to the White Cross Vets Principles both within the clinic and when representing White Cross Vets externally at all times.

  • 5 weekdays (37.5 hours in total)
  • Share of Saturdays (with time back in lieu)
  • No out of hours

Our Gateacre clinic is well equipped with ultrasound, digital X-ray and dental X-ray machine, pulse oximetry, BP monitoring and in house lab and hopefully a multi-parameter anaesthetic machine soon. We see a high number of TTa cruciate surgeries and Bulldog airway surgery as we have a surgery certificate holder in practice.

Applicant requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated veterinary nurse who can thrive in our high-quality practice. You will relate to our core principles of quality, integrity, responsibility and growth, fitting seamlessly alongside our friendly practice teams as you work with team to provide a quality experience for pet owner and pets alike. You will have experience in a UK Small Animal practice, be RCVS registered, have strong communication skills and have the ability to work well in a team. We are looking for someone who has the passion to deliver great clinical quality and fan-tastic client service and the desire to care for pets as if they are your own.
