Job Details

This progressive, small animal practice based in beautiful south-east Cornwall are looking for a full-time vet to join their friendly and experienced team.

They have one main practice and also 2 branch surgeries which run consultations only, both these branch surgeries are on the coast of Cornwall and both within 16 miles of the main site. You will spend time in the branch surgeries on an equal rota basis.

The main site has an extensive range of modern equipment including endoscopy/bronchoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental), diathermy and cutting-edge anaesthetic monitors.  They are also able to offer laparoscopic spays and TTA/TTAR's in house. This role would encourage the nurturing and development of new techniques, as well as allowing advancement of existing skills.

The team of 9 full-time equivalent vets (with an average of 13 years experience), plus 10 RVN's and 1 SVN can provide a supportive environment for a recent graduate or there is scope for a more experienced vet to progress with their career and develop their own niche. They see a good, varied caseload and have lots of happy clients and their pets.

The equally shared OOH rota is based on 1:10 weeks on call, to include weekends. During your on-call week, you are not required to work in the practice during the day. When you are on call overnight, you only need to attend the practice to see OOH calls and inpatient checks as necessary.

The successful candidate can expect a starting salary dependent upon experience plus RCVS, VDS and one other professional membership paid and 34 days annual holiday.
