The role:

We are looking for a motivated individual to lead a team of vets, nurses and reception staff. You will deal with day-to-day “in-branch” management, liaise with regional management and the support centre as required and assist in and manage any marketing initiatives/clinical initiatives as required.

Your duties will also include: Consulting, ensuring all aspects of animal welfare are addressed, routine surgery, lifting and moving animals, handling drugs and chemotherapeutic agents, shared on-call duties, providing telephone advice, data entry and fee charging.

You will deal with clients’ concerns and complaints at practice level and liaise with regional management if needed in these situations. From time to time, you may also be required to assist with nurse and vet training 

Branch Partnership opportunities within this practice are also available where you can own part of the clinic, have complete clinical freedom whilst receiving full support from the wider Medivet network.

Essential attributes:

MRCVS qualification
English language skills
Associated skills (listening, empathising and summarising)
No unspent criminal convictions
No RCVS investigations underway
Computer literacy

Desirable attributes:

Medical competence (to a level required for the specific role, including clinical examinations, lifting 
and moving animals, diagnosing disease and prescribing/handling of drugs)
Surgical competence (to a level required for the specific role)
Sole charge experience
UK small animal practice experience
Familiarity and compliance with relevant legislation
Mediation experience
Suitable attitude to commission/charging for work completed
Demonstrable ability to work in a team or lead a team (as appropriate to the role)
Presentable
Proactive “go-getter” attitude

Joining our national network of veterinary surgeons at Medivet, offers exceptional opportunities for career development while enjoying a very competitive salary package (£45,000-£60,000 per annum depending on experience). We’ll also look after you with a company vehicle and accommodation allowances. A generous CPD allowance is also designed to drive your progress, balanced by 5 weeks annual holiday allowance (FTE).

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Branch:

Harrogate Oak Beck Way is a well-equipped practice tucked away on the outskirts of Harrogate yet close enough to pop out at lunch time.

The practice has 2 theatres, a large prep room, separate dog and cat ward and a separate fully furbished dental suite. Spacious and bright reception/waiting area with separate dog and cat seating.

Modern digital X-ray, ultrasound and CT scanner facilities.

In house lab equipment with up to date analyzers and external lab support and services.
