Surgery Information / Job Description

We are a family friendly practice based in Ayrshire in the South west of Scotland and are looking for an experienced part time Vet to join us. We are passionate about our people and strongly believe in creating an honest and happy workplace where we can develop and grow professionally whilst having quality time outside work with our much loved families. We appreciate life in the veterinary world is very different now and we have embraced that and moved with the times, this is very evident in the way we do things our own way. If you would like to know more about us and why we are different, drop us an email or feel free to give us a call.

More about us

We are a five Vet and five Nurse team with eight support staff, we also have the luxury of a sister practice 15 minutes’ drive away with another two Vets and four Nurses. Our team are genuinely lovely and very supportive, we treat each other like family and always have each other’s backs. We value each colleague’s ideas and opinions and welcome these regularly at our practice meetings, clinical catch ups and coffee chats. Our communication is excellent and we appreciate how important this is to allow things to run smoothly and to create a happy team. We also know each person is different and what inspires and motivates one person, doesn’t necessarily do the same for someone else, that’s why we tailor our packages and rotas to each individual colleague to make it personal. We believe in being flexible, understanding and compassionate and we pride ourselves on this. We truly have a wonderful team so finding the ‘right’ person is very important to us.

A word from our team

"At Vets4Pets Ayr/Irvine, work-life balance is really prioritised and management are great at allowing us flexibility and time to have lives outside of work, while time in work is spent with a close knit, supportive family team who genuinely get on really well and will be the first to have your back and support you. I've never seen a practice so willing to go above and beyond for their team before."

What we want from you

We ask that you are passionate about the veterinary community, that you have a positive attitude, that you aren’t afraid to make changes and are happy to voice your opinion. We want you to use your initiative, share your experience, support your colleagues and be there for them when they need you. We would also love for you to join us for the odd drink after work and take part in our occasional team building days, from trampolining to days at the races!

Freedom and progression

You'll also have access to great equipment to fulfil your role and have a forward thinking team to help you progress. We want someone who can bring their own ideas, and to take a lead and offer direction/mentorship to our younger colleagues.
