Role: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Helmsley, North Yorkshire

Hours: Permanent, Full time hours over 4 days, 1 in 5 weekend OOHs

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience £30 - 50k+ per annum

VetFinders are happy to be recruiting for a wonderfully independent rural practice, with branches in three beautiful locations in North Yorkshire. With good transport links and picturesque surroundings.

The practice has been well established in Helmsley, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside, with a combined total of over 130 years of experience in looking after the pets and large animals in the local area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Small animal Vet with ideally 1 years’ experience, looking to join an expanding team, with an ever-increasing case load. Please note experience is not everything for this role, as they have a super supportive team, new graduate applications would also be welcome, as well as time served applications.

The Role:

As a Small Veterinary Surgeon, you will need to be able and comfortable with a mixture of consultations and surgical procedures of general practice.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience, this is not essential, but preferred.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis, full time hours worked over 4 days, in addition an OOH rota including a 1:5 weekends rota on call (no hours worked during the day when on call). When on call there is the support of an experienced RVN also.

Development and progression - The practice is looking for the right applicant to join the team to deliver an excellent standard of patient care and client service.

About the practice:

It is a successful and established practice, proudly independent and vastly admired and respected in the local area.

The practice is committed to providing clients with the best possible, affordable healthcare for their beloved pets, whilst delivering an excellent service and experience, that is recognisable from others.  

The team consists currently of 9 Vets, 10 RVNs, 4 SVNs, 5 receptionists and 2 housekeepers, all with lots of valuable experience to learn from and ask for advice.

The practice is looking for a team player. A friendly and kind natured individual that wants the support of an experienced team. The practice believes that knowledge should be shared and interests allowed to be developed. If you are looking to develop an area of interest or looking to find a niche that you can build, they are very supportive in offering the opportunity and development to make this a reality.
