Fixed Term Maternity Cover
St Boswells & Dumfries
SRUC are currently seeking Veterinary Investigation Officers to provide cover for maternity leave. We have roles based at our Disease Survei-llance Hubs at St Boswells in the Scottish Borders and Dumfries. In this role, you will join a highly qualified and successful team that deliver farm animal disease surveillance and provide a diagnostic and consultancy service to veterinary practitioners. This involves post-mortem examina-tions, interpretating laboratory diagnostic test results and advising on disease investigations. This is a great opportunity for vets currently in farm practice to gain experience in disease investigation in a supported environment.
Experience in mixed or farm animal practice is essential and a post-graduate specialist qualification desirable. On-going professional training will be provided. Applicants must be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. A current UK driving licence is essential as travel to remote areas not covered by public transport is a part of this role.
This is a full time, fixed term, maternity cover role of up to 14 months.
