We are currently looking for a full-time small animal vet to work at our progressive, modern, independent Veterinary Hospital on the edge of the Cotswolds. The position would be suitable for a new graduate, as well as those with experience.

Our Veterinary Hospital is situated in Banbury, an old market town in North Oxfordshire. London and Birmingham are less than an hour away by train. The M40 Junction 11 is a few minutes from the practice providing easy access to the UK motorway network.

We have consulting branches in the surrounding villages of Adderbury, Southam, Woodford Halse, and on the outskirts of Banbury near Little Bourton.

Our spacious Banbury branch was recently refurbished and includes separate cat and dog wards, four theatres, dental theatre, prep areas, six consulting rooms, a large relaxed waiting room and good well equipped staff rest/refreshment facilities. We have a controlled access private staff only car parking at our Hospital. We have attained the silver ISFM cat friendly clinic award and are of course an RCVS Practice Standards Scheme Hospital.

Recently we have installed a large bespoke canopy to facilitate outdoor consultations during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We offer a 24/7 service for our clients and also provide out of hours cover for a couple of local practices. We offer a high level of care to our patients whilst providing a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for our clients, patients, and our team.

We are a busy practice and work really well as a team. An ideal candidate must be a team player, keen to learn and improve and have a strong work ethic. The caseload is varied and interesting. Case continuity and clinical freedom are encouraged. We aim to learn from each other. There is plenty of support from vets with decades of experience and expertise in a variety of areas. Further qualifications are encouraged and there may be directorship opportunities.

We do of course have all the equipment you would expect including DR radiography, dental x-ray, ultrasound machine (suitable for echocardio-graphy as well as abdominal ultrasonography), rigid and flexible endos-copy. We routinely carry out keyhole/laproscopic ovariectomies. The practice is equipped with good IT systems including cloud based practice email address and HR software for booking time off CPD etc and unres-tricted wireless internet access.

Our purpose built in-house laboratory handles haematology, biochemis-try, microbiology and cytology in house and is staffed by professional laboratory personnel. An independent canine rehabilitation business operates out of one of our branches.

The successful applicant will receive a generous salary and CPD allowance, 6 weeks holiday plus most bank holidays, subsidised maternity pay, and NEST pension scheme. We have our own new graduate support scheme including mentoring and essential support.
The rota is based on regular Monday-Friday structure with 1-in-4 weekends on call plus one night in the week, with time off in lieu. Saturday afternoons to Monday mornings are emergency work only. Back-up is provided for all on-call duties where needed.
