A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head RVN to join our friendly and experienced 24 hour hospital in Camberwell, South London, leading a team of RVN's, SVN's, PCA and reception team. You'll also have support from your Deputy Head Nurse and Area Manager.

This role offers a salary of £31,696 to £35,719 per annum, depending on experience (includes London weighting allowance of £2000) plus £300 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house training available. RCVS, BVNA membership fees. 25-days annual leave plus bank holidays. 

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week - 1:4 weekends and a fair share of bank holiday cover with time off in lieu and minimal on call duties over the year - enabling the development of your ECC skills and experience.

Key accountabilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the nursing team and will also share responsibility for inpatient care and theatre work with other nursing staff. Here, you will share expertise and support the less experienced members of the practice in order to help them to build on their knowledge and skills.

The ideal candidate will share our passion for delivering outstanding client and patient care and will enjoy working in a supportive and nurturing environment. You should possess a positive attitude and a desire to progress and expand your own knowledge and skills further. Becoming a clinical coach is desirable, but full training and support will be provided alongside the development of leadership skills.

Skills and experience:

You will need to be a qualified and Registered Veterinary Nurse with small animal experience. Leadership experience is not strictly necessary as ongoing training and support will be provided.

You must have a full driver's license or be working towards obtaining one, as the transportation of patients may be required from time to time.

Branch:

Medivet Camberwell is a bright and spacious, excellently equipped clinic with CT, digital x-ray, laparoscopic stack system, dental x-ray full in-house lab, sterrad sterilisation, ultrasound, separate dog and cat wards, isolation and two operating rooms.

Here, you can enjoy a purpose-built hospital which is only a few years old, providing a fantastic modern space to work in! There is also a lovely big staff area for lunches and shower room for those of you who wish to cycle to work or freshen up before a you head out into the capital. 

The hospital has a mixed caseload, currently seeing first opinion cases and referrals from our nine surrounding clinics. 

The successful candidate will be welcomed by our friendly team with alacrity! The day and night team is made up of 7 Vet Surgeons (with certificate holders in Small Animal Surgery, Endosurgery, Internal Medicine) 8 Nurses including 2 SVNs and 1 PCA and 4 Client Care Assistants plus Locum colleagues

24-Hour Camberwell is a 10 minute walk from Loughborough Junction train station and Denmark Hill as well as having multiple nearby bus routes.
