We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our nursing team. The position is full time, working 4 full days 8.30am to 5.30pm plus one half day a week. The on-call rota is shared 1 in 6 for weekends and one weeknight duty. We are a small, close team that prides ourselves on providing excellent nursing care to both our patients and clients. The role includes typical general practice duties, anaesthetics, assisting with surgical procedures, general nursing care, nurse consults and laser therapy together with assisting our vets on home visits.

We are blessed with lovely clients, and a lovely team. We focus on the quality of care rather than quantity. We have 15-minute consults, a CT scanner, laparoscopic surgery, video endoscopy and loads of support from a very experienced team. We have 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Regis-tered Veterinary Nurses and several support staff plus a practice mana-ger. We view our practice as happy, relaxed, and welcoming. We all love what we do and feel privileged to be trusted with the care of the Islan-ders' pets. Our team cares, listens and supports each other working together to help provide the very best of customer care, understanding that we are all emotive beings that need each other’s love and support.

Our staff are integral in helping us continue to strive to be the best for
our clients and patients and we focus on a good work: life balance, championing both mental and physical health; whilst maintaining awareness of the importance of family commitments to staff with children, hence early finishes and ample time off.

The Island offers easy access to London by train. Beautiful coastal scenery, walking, cycling, surfing, sailing, etc. We support local charities and take our wider responsibilities seriously. The team is a friendly bunch, hoping to form lasting and genuine partnerships with all clients and pets. We endeavour to approach every conversation with openness, warmth, and honesty. Doing the right thing is fundamentally important to us – we work hard to keep our training and development up to date and we invest in the best equipment including the building of a brand-new surgery which should begin very soon. We always push the boundaries and ensure we are thinking about new ideas to challenge the current status quo in the veterinary industry. We strive to be leaders and not followers and take pride in being different from the rest so we can continue to provide the very best of care for our patients.

Preferably you will have experience as a registered veterinary nurse in clinical practice. We would welcome candidates that are happy to work flexibly in a team environment and who are keen to enhance their skillset with additional CPD. Above all we look for enthusiasm and happiness in our team members who should have a can-do attitude.

Benefits (subject to pro rata):

  • 4 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
  • 3 days paid CPD leave
  • £550 CPD allowance per annum
