Job Details

We are currently looking for an Out of Hours Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. This is a full time role working 28.33 hours per week on a 1 in 3 rota - work for 7 nights and then have 14 off! Enjoy a great work-life balance with 2/3 of the year off work. This role involves in-patient care for Dragon Vets and the surroun-ding practices, plus dealing with any out of hours emergency cases that present during the night.

Located in the heart of Cheltenham, renowned for horse racing and a thriving bar/restaurant scene, Dragon Vets is the largest and most advanced practice in the area. We have invested in the latest anaes-thetic equipment including 3 new Cardell multi parameters (including capnography), plus a fully equipped lab, including blood gasses.

We are lucky to have around 20 veterinary nurses working during the daytime, across our branches, with expertise in areas such as behaviour and nutrition. Several of our vets hold post-graduate qualifications in medicine, surgery, and cardiology. There are plenty of opportunities for discussion of interesting cases and socialising.

The position of an out of hours Veterinary Nurse is often exciting and varied. You must be comfortable with a fast-paced role involving the admission and management of critically unwell patients, alongside the emergency and critical care vets.
