Role: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Astwood Bank, Worcestershire

Hours: Permanent, 37.5 hours a week,

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience £40k+ per annum

VetFinders are recruiting for a wonderful independent rural practice in Astwood Bank, Worcestershire. This family practice is over 100 years in practice and is looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, with immediate effect. This is a fantastic opportunity for a 3 ears plus qualified Vet, looking to join an expanding team, and ever-increasing case load. There is opportunity for shared partnership as the current owner looks to retirement.

The Role:

As a small animal Veterinary Surgeon, you will need to be able and comfortable with a mixture of consultations and surgical procedures of general practice. Confident and competent in the role.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience, this is not essential, but preferred.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis at 37.5 hours per week, over 5 days. In addition, Sat morning 9-11am on rota, and a share of on call (very little) weekends 1 in 4. The vets currently enjoy extended lunch breaks away from the practice, as a belief in good work/life balance is paramount.

Development and progression are important to the practice, as they grow and evolve.

Any candidate having an interest in Orthopaedics would be greatly appreciated.

About the practice:

It is a successful and established practice, in rural Worcestershire. 100% small animal, holding an excellent reputation. This family practice is very proud to be independent and their commitment to their quality in service still remains unchanged and unaltered everyday ever since the start.

The practice is committed to providing clients with the best possible, affordable healthcare for their beloved pets, whilst delivering an excellent service and experience, that is recognisable from others.  

The team consists of 3 Vets, 3 nurses, and 2 supportive receptionists; lots of experience to learn from and ask for advice.

Excellent facilities include walk in dog kennels, separate cat kennels, large garden for exercising hospitalised dogs, 2 large consulting rooms, one with outside access. Theatre and preparation room, imaging suite with digital X ray and Ultrasound. Modern technology. The practice is happy to add any equipment required also.

The practice is looking for a team player. Liking for cream cakes essential!
