Job Details

Our client is a multi-site practice just 30 minutes drive South of Birmingham. The group of three practices are looking for an experienced small animal vet to join them.

You will be based the majority of the time at the main hospital site and will additionally spend some time at one of the two local branches close by, this will normally be 1 day per week at most. With this in mind you must have a flexible working approach, have previous experience, be confident with sole charge and routine consults. When working at the main hospital you will be working with 4 – 6 vets, when at the branches you may be the only vet but there is always support available and a team with you.

The team is made up of 10 vets and there is an additional team of 3 vets who cover the night duties. This provides an excellent service to clients and their animals without you having to cover any of the night rota. The team of vets has been very stable and six of them have been at the practice for over 10 years. This is a full-time role for 4.5 days per week but the practice is looking for the right candidate and can be flexible on the rota, to suit experienced vets if necessary. Weekends are on a 1.5:7 rota, within a seven-week period you will be required to work a full weekend and additional Saturday. team have interests in diagnostics, exotics, rabbits and have a vet who is in the middle of a exotic certificate and a vet who is studying for a MSC in Advanced Clinical Practice. practice are very keen to hear form candidates who are studying towards a certificate or who would like to do so. You must be an excellent communicator and be happy to support less experienced vets and nurses whilst working in practice.

You will work closely with the Clinical Director, your veterinary colleagues and the management team, as well as all other support staff within the practice in order to provide the highest standards of professional care and service to clients and their animals. You will be happy to assume responsibility for surgical and medical cases whilst complying with the practice’s policies and protocols and ensuring all cases are written up in full on a daily basis. You must maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders to promote and build the reputation of the practice.
