We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated veterinary Surgeon to
join our team. The position is full time, working 4 full days 8.30 am to 5.30 pm plus one half day a week. The rota is shared 1:6 for weekend and weeknight duties. All veterinary surgeons have the opportunity to consult, perform medical work ups & surgeries and spend time on the road with a nurse on different days. We are happy to accommodate specific interests, e.g. some vets perform more surgery and others more consultations, other vets prefer to be out on the road more. The vets work together to decide on where they would like to focus their attention.

We are blessed with lovely clients, and a lovely team. We focus on quality of care rather than quantity. 15 minute consults. CT scanner, laparos-copic surgery, video endoscopy, (training/CPD in all if interested) and loads of support from a very experienced team. We have 7 vets, some part time and some full time. These include an endoscopy and a CertAVP certificate holder. Our team is also comprised of 5 RVNs and several support staff plus a practice manager. We view our practice as happy, relaxed and welcoming. We all love what we do and feel privileged to be trusted with the care of the Islanders' pets. Our team cares, listens and supports each other working together to help provide the very best of customer care, understanding that we are all emotive beings that need each other’s love and support.

We are a very family orientated practice; ensuring staff get to finish the day on time and have the opportunity to attend parents’ evenings, assemblies, nativity plays, sports days, etc. We have a very strong focus on looking after each other and ensuring a good work:life balance and we look after our staff very well.

Our staff are integral in helping us continue to strive to be the best
for our clients and patients and we focus on a good work:life balance, championing both mental and physical health; whilst maintaining awareness of the importance of family commitments to staff with children, hence early finishes and ample time off. In addition and looking ahead there are significant prospects for the right vet to become a more integral part of the business in a directors role.

The team is a friendly bunch, hoping to form lasting and genuine partner-ships with all clients and pets. We endeavour to approach every conversation with openness, warmth and honesty. Doing the right thing is fundamentally important to us – we work hard to keep our training and development up to date and we invest in the best equipment.

The Island offers easy access to London by train. Beautiful coastal scenery, walking, cycling, surfing, sailing, etc. We support local charities and take our wider responsibilities seriously. We recycle everything we can and actively reduce waste and we are proud to be a water refill station. We love our insects too and are a Bee-Friendly practice

We always push the boundaries and ensure we are thinking about new ideas to challenge the current status quo in the veterinary industry. We strive to be leaders and not followers and take pride in being different from the rest so we can continue to provide the very best of care for our patients.

Preferably you will have experience as a veterinary surgeon in clinical practice. We would welcome candidates that are happy to work flexibly in a team environment and who are keen to enhance their skillset with additional CPD, including endoscopic surgery and advanced diagnostic imaging such as CT scans and ultrasound. Above all we look for enthusiasm and happiness in our team members.
