Be part of one of the UK’s leading Small Animal Orthopaedic Referral Centres.

Applications are invited from Veterinary Surgeons interested in pursuing a one-year Small Animal Surgical Internship at Kentdale. The programme will ideally commence on Monday 12th April 2021, however there is some flexibility with the start date.

Kentdale Referrals is one of the UK’s leading Specialist-led Orthopaedic, Spinal and Soft Tissue small animal referral centres. Our current team comprises of five Small Animal Surgeons supported by our highly skilled team of Veterinary Nurses and in-house Veterinary Physiotherapist. We also run an established residency programme.

The successful applicant will enter a detailed training programme assisting in the throughput of our patients working as part of our team
of Specialists gaining experience in all surgical subspecialties with an emphasis on orthopaedics and spinal surgery.  Responsibilities may also include assistance with out-of-hours night or weekend duties, providing surgical assistance, obtaining and reviewing imaging studies, and the induction and monitoring of anaesthesia.

The applicant should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills – a very good command of spoken and written English is essential. The candidate should have had at least two years’ post-graduate experience of working in small animal practice, with at least some of this time spent in the UK, and be keen to join a friendly team environment which is dedicated to the provision of the highest level of care for our patients, clients and referring Veterinary Surgeons. Previous completion of a rotating internship position would be advan-tageous but is not essential. Our philosophy is very much one of a collaborative culture with friendly co-operation amongst all team members.

  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
  • Birthday leave
  • Purpose built facilities with state-of-the art equipment
