The role:

We currently have an amazing and unique opportunity for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon with a keen interest in medicine (ideally a Certificate Holder) to join our busy hospital based in Sutton.

This lively hospital will provide the successful candidate with a wide caseload in a fun and stimulating environment. 

The suitable candidate will be a driven, dynamic, ambitious individual with exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a busy hospital environment.

You will be an enterprising veterinary surgeon who is interested in career development and/or branch partnership in the future.

The varied hospital caseload ranges from routine first option cases, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical caseload and inpatient care, with a hospital caseload fed from several surrounding practices. There is an experienced team of night vets and nurses to look after your cases over night and ensure case continuity. 

The role allows for a good work life balance by working 39 hours a week over 4 days. You will also be part of a 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekend rota.

Salary & Benefits:

A very competitive package of up to £70,000 per annum (depending on experience), which includes accommodation allowance and a vehicle or vehicle allowance

£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days’ CPD leave per annum or pro rata and in-house CPD training

5 weeks annual leave, plus bank holidays

VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

Skills and experience:

You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS.

Ideally, you will have 3-5 years' UK (or equivalent) veterinary experience and a keen interest in medicine (certificate holder)

Branch:

Medivet Sutton 24 is the main hospital for the region and provides a range of services to its patients and neighbouring branches, including ultrasound, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, emergency services and hospitalisation.  It's patients also have access to other services provided by the Medivet group, such as  CT imaging and radioactive iodine treatment . 

The hospital is located in the leafy borough of Sutton, within easy reach of the Surrey Hills. It is superbly located for access into central London (with Sutton train station less than a 10 minute walk away) and is a short drive to Gatwick airport. 

You will be part of a fun and vibrant team, with night vets and nurses to take care of your patients overnight, and all your cases being worked up to a high clinical standard.
