The role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our Mossley (Ian McConnell Vet Practice) 24 hour practice due to the expansion of our team.

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate or would be working towards one. Variety of specialisms considered. Full funding can be provided for a certificate with potential to buy out of current training. A client-orientated approach and excellent communication skills is a must, alongside the ability to work to a high standard both medically and surgically.

You will be working in a team of 6 other vets alongside our experienced night team.

We have fantastic clients and we are active in the local community. You will be working within our well-equipped practice including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, laparoscope, video otoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser. Plans for CT machine on site in the future. 

We offer excellent long term prospects for the right candidate, with advancement in skills and specialism actively encouraged. Experience working in an environment where colleagues support you by sharing skills and knowledge to give our patients the best outcomes.

Linked with Medivet Uppermill there will be some consulting days at the branch practice on a fair rota basis. 

Salary and hours

This role works to a 4 day week with either 1:3 Saturday's or 1:6 full weekends.

Skills and experience:

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Branch:

This exciting opportunity has arisen due to Ian McConnell Vet practice in Mossley joining our Medivet family. Already being a 24 hr hospital the practice has become the main centre in the region providing 24 hour care for our surrounding clinics.

The clinic is well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors, endoscopy, laparoscopy, video otoscope, in house blood machines, separate night team for 24 hour care on site.
