Surgery Information / Job Description

Due to continued growth, we are pleased to offer a new opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to come and join our passionate and friendly team at Hedge End Vets4Pets, located in the county of Hampshire.

Hedge End is only 6 miles away from central Southampton, and Hedge End itself is an area of family residential homes, a strong retail offering which attracts people from a wide area, and there is easy access to coastal and rural areas.

We would like to meet you if you are a Veterinary Surgeon who already has experience from first opinion practice, and feels comfortable consulting with clients and are confident in routine surgery. You should be capable of emergency surgery if needed but no OOH work is required. We are keen to meet you if you have any individual passions you wish to pursue such as orthopaedics or exotics but this is not essential.

Person Specification

Whilst you will get the chance to work autonomously, with some sole charge, and have the clinical freedom to treat your patients as you need, you can also benefit from working as part of an experienced and friendly team and alongside the practice owners who will be on hand to support and offer advice. We also benefit from working with other nearby practices in our group to offer a high quality of patient care.

We have a full time position available, which will include 1 in 2 weekends, with days off in lieu. We also have a 15-20 hour weekend role, there is potential for this to increase in the future.

You will be supported by the other members of our team, who include three experienced Nurses, one of whom also completes Practice Manager duties, and our reception team who our clients describe as friendly, professional, caring and kind.

Benefits

In addition to your salary, pension contributions, paid annual leave and a host of other benefits, we are also able to agree a CPD budget to support your professional development as we are keen to develop the skills of all of our colleagues within our team.

Our practice, will celebrate its 4th year of opening this year, and has an expanding client base with an increasingly varied caseload. We see a number of more advanced medical cases which allows us to progress our work ups and diagnostics. Whilst we have all the equipment that you should expect in a modern built practice such as including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory facilities, the team and our supportive environment make this a special place to work.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
