You will need to be motivated and confident, also be keen to take responsibility for your own cases and clients.

You will be able to engage and empathise with your clients and be keen to work up cases as fully as possible without referring. Communication with pet owners and colleagues is an essential skill

You will be well supported but must be capable of sole charge at times.

This could suit a New grad, but a minimum of 2 years’ experience is preferred.

Consulting and operating are done at the main site, consultations at the branch surgery only.

The Practice

Their main site is close to the centre of Oxford and is an easy to walk into town, the branch surgery is in one of the nearby villages.

There is plenty of culture, music, sport, cuisine (when things are open), with easy access to London and main transport routes.

The practice deals with a mixture of clients, from charity to gold standard insurance. Flexibility is required, they try to match treatment options to client’s desires and pockets.

They excel on getting to know their clients well and they trust us. They work up in house where possible, but have good referral practices around when required (for advice or treatment).

All the usual diagnostic and monitoring devices present.

They also have a visiting exotics vet, so no reptile panics, but do see quite a few small furry friends.

Varied caseload in friendly and supportive team with encouragement and support where required.

Benefits

  • RCVS & VDS fees paid
  • Health Shield
  • Workplace pension
  • CPD funded

They work a four-day week in a well-equipped, forward thinking practice with a great team of qualified nurses and appreciative clients.

This is a chance to be involved in a growing independent practice surrounded by a motivated supportive team helping you to do the work you trained to do

Company

VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities  giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked  with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
