The Centre for Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, invites applications for a Full Professorship (W3) of
Pathology (Chair) commencing as soon as possible.

The successful applicant should excel internationally and her/his scientific interests will focus on aspects within the field of pathology.
The applicant’s successful activities are expected to extend into research, teaching and administrative tasks as well as clinical services. The holder of the position is expected to develop activities that deal with topics, which are relevant across various animal species with a special focus on large animal models.

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree in veterinary medicine, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program. National or international board certification as veterinary pathology specialist is required. Several years of experience in raising third-party resources from national and international funding programs are expected.

According to domestic legal guidelines (TAppV) the successful applicant will be responsible for teaching veterinary students in the field of pathology.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate their potential for an outstanding academic career with an excellent record in research, teaching and, where appropriate, clinical service. As communication
with students, staff, industry and stakeholder will require knowledge of spoken and written German, it is germane for the successful candidate to demonstrate the sincere willingness to become proficient in the German language.
