Job Details
The recent departure of one of our surgeons has left our senior veterinary surgeon feeling a bit outnumbered by the medics and although he is loving doing lots of surgery he keeps getting outvoted on which branch of veterinary medicine is better. He would like another vet to share his love of surgery with (and he gets bored of all of our ‘medic-speak’). We do almost all of our own orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery so we are looking for someone who either has a surgery certificate or is wanting to do one (fully funded by us).
We are a first opinion small animal practice, and as much as I would like to promise you that you can spend the whole day in theatre, there will be consults and vaccinations (and maybe even the odd dental), however we do aim to give our surgeons as much time in theatre as possible, with dedicated surgery mornings and time to spend with our senior surgeon learning new procedures.
Our ideal candidate would need to be friendly, forward thinking, enthusiastic about practicing a high standard of patient and customer care. The most essential skill we require is the ability to fit in with our (slightly crazy) Wheelie family. A strong interest in small animal surgery might be a good idea.
