Veterinary Surgeon - Nottinghamshire
An independent, first opinion, small animal hospital based in Worksop are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their thriving and experienced team who operate to an extremely high standard.
As it is a first opinion hospital, you will get plenty of client contact and continuity of cases, inpatient care is a big part of what they do, and their clients are happy to support thorough work ups, you will get plenty of opportunity to investigate and treat interesting cases.
You will be working alongside an experienced team of 11 Vets, 18 RVN's, along with plenty of SVN's and support staff. It is a single site hospital so there is plenty of support on offer and the opportunity to discuss cases with your team.
The purpose built Hospital means they have all the kit and more, from a CT scanner to a separate End-of-Life Suite that allows the time and privacy to ensure those final consultations are treated with the dignity they deserve. There is a separate dog, cat and rabbit areas throughout the practice, a range of wards and an extensive theatre/prep area and they have ISFM Gold Cat Friendly Status.
Full time role – average working week is 38 hours
1 in 6 weeks of late shifts until 11pm with on call for in patients only (RVN and VCA on site).
1 in 6 weekends with 3 days off in lieu.
Mix of consults, theatre and ward shifts.
20 Minute consults.
The ideal candidate will have a basic grounding in first opinion practice, who is looking for that next step job where they are wanting to expand their skills and progress in their Veterinary journey.
They take a collaborative approach to cases, so you should be happy to take part in case discussions and understand the concept of evidence based medicine.
1 years experience is preferable, an interest in both medicine and surgery would be beneficial as both are involved!
