Surgery Information / Job Description

Idara Umo and her fantastic team are looking for a friendly and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join them at Blackheath Vets4Pets! 

We are based inside a busy Pets at Home store in Blackheath, near Greenwich. There is outdoor space nearby at Greenwich Park, and has easy commuting in and out of London city centre. This great location means we see a varied caseload, with no two days the same, and have built a loyal client base in the local community. The practice is bright, spacious, and very well equipped with state of the art equipment. 

You will be joining Partner, Idara, who graduated from University of Bologna in 2002 and moved to the UK to do an MSc in wild animal health at the RVC. She has a keen interest in exotic pets and small furries. Her supportive team consists of 5 Nurses, 4 Vets and 3 Receptionists. 

Person Specification 

This role would suit an experienced Vet with solid surgical and medical skills. Surgical preference and/or a certificate would be advantageous but not essential. Key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care. You will be a strong team player, friendly, down-to-earth, have a genuine interest in animal welfare and enjoy the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike. There will be occasional sole charge, so you must also be confident and comfortable with this. 

This is a full time role, 37 hours per week, and will include weekends on a 1 in 4 rota basis. There is no OOH requirement with this role, providing a great work/life balance.
