Be part of one of the UKs leading small animal referral centres!
A position has become available on our rotating structured internship program to ideally in July 2021, although there is some flexibility with the start date.
As part of Willows’ Small Animal Internship, the successful applicant will enter a detailed training programme assisting in the throughput of our Orthopaedic, Spinal, Ophthalmic, Neurological, Medical, Oncological, Cardiology, Dermatology and Soft Tissue patients, as well as helping with their ongoing management and care. There are also structured rotations within our Emergency and Critical Care, Anaesthesia, and Diagnostic Imaging departments. Intern responsibilities include assisting the on-duty Nursing staff with out-of-hours night and weekend duties, incorporating the provision of an emergency service for primary clinic patients. We currently have a team of ten rotating Interns.
The applicant should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills – a very good command of spoken and written English is essential. The candidate should have had at least two years’ post-graduate experience of working in small animal practice, with at least some of this time spent in the UK, and be keen to join a friendly team environment which is dedicated to the provision of the highest level of care for our patients, clients and referring Veterinary Surgeons. Our philosophy is very much one of friendly co-operation between all members of the team with a collaborative culture between clinicians working across every specialism.
Willows is extremely proud to have a strong track record of Interns going on to undertake Specialist training in different disciplines. To this end, Interns are mentored and supported in undertaking clinical research, presentations and publications.
Willows is proud to be accredited by Investors in People at the extended Silver level, and we are dedicated to providing excellent working conditions, care and support for all of our 200+ personnel.
