The Role

The retirement of our senior clinical director has created an exciting opportunity for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join us to help mentor and develop our fabulous team. We carry out a broad spectrum of mixed practice work and offer the opportunity to develop niche roles, depending on individual interests. The workload ranges from routine farm work to smallholders with a smattering of equine work. This role will involve working a four-day week and an equally shared out-of-hours rota creates a good work life balance.

About Us

Woodside Veterinary Group is a mixed practice serving traditional beef and sheep farms and providing care for family pets across 3 sites on Royal Deeside Aberdeenshire. We have a friendly team of nurses and reception staff making for a happy place to work. We are based mid-way between the attractions of Aberdeen and the Cairngorms with all both have to offer on our doorstep. We have all the usual equipment such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, and in-house lab equipment is available.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants will be experienced in all aspects of mixed practice work and have a passion for teamwork and development. There may also be potential to develop your role and progress to Clinical Director should you be looking for this type of opportunity. Excellent communication skills are required as the role will include the mentoring of younger members of staff. OV qualifications would be an advantage, although there is minimal TB testing in 4-year parishes.
