Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon required at Scarsdale Vets
Farm Centre - Derby!

The Role

This role would suit an inquisitive and proactive Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys an environment of continual learning and sharing that knowledge. A desire to inspire the future generation of Veterinary Surgeons would be useful as one on one teaching will form part of the role. Your line manager will actively support your development and career progression.

About Us

We have an opening for a farm vet to join our friendly, sociable and farmer focused team. Based in the Midlands, we are predominantly a dairy practice with 10 farm vets and 3 TB testers.

We have a fantastic mix of experienced vets and more recent graduates. The team is well qualified (including 3 CertAVPs and 2 residents working towards their ECBHM) and we encourage and support further study for all our team members. We provide the freedom to independently work up cases and we are also lucky to have regular support from the cattle health and production team at the University of Nottingham. We are a teaching practice for final year vet students and evidence-based medicine and herd health is central to what we do.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone with knowledge and practical experience of a farm animal caseload, as well as excellent client communication skills. You will also need to be a member of the RCVS with a clean and current driving license. It would be beneficial to have experience in a similar role and also an OV TB qualification.
