Equine Ambulatory Vet

The Equine Veterinary Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ambulatory vet to join our modern 5 vet equine practice in the heart of Doncaster, South Yorkshire.  

The role would suit someone wanting to continually develop in a supportive and friendly environment with an interesting and diverse case load.  

We work predominantly with leisure horse owners whilst also attending to hunt stables, competition yards and horse studs. We have the reassuring back-up of a number of local specialist equine referral Hospitals. 

We offer a full range of routine equine veterinary services such as vaccinations, motorised dentistry, sedations, lameness investigations, breeding work including fresh and frozen AI and pre-purchase examinations. We are fully equipped with portable digital x-rays, ultrasound scanners, endoscopy and gastroscopy equipment.  We perform routine surgeries including castrations, lump removals both at our centre and at clients own properties. We have 3 stables for in-patients, examination and treating area, stocks and access to an on-site indoor arena.

You will be working alongside an experienced team which includes a certificate holder and vet/EDT. Your own further development as well as specialist interests will be encouraged. Opportunities to develop and undertake management roles and duties within the practice and the organisation would be available and encouraged.

Formal CPD (5 days per annum) is funded and encouraged whilst there is plenty of access to more informal internal CPD within CVS.

We like to encourage a healthy work life balance and hence all the vets work a 4 day week. (You will have the same day off each week). After hour duties are equally share hence a current 1 in 5 rota. Employees are permitted 5 weeks' annual leave, whilst 2 additional weeks can be taken unpaid.
