The Role

We are looking for a Clinical Director to help progress Forth Valley Vets onto the next stage in its development. Our team consists of 11 other Vets. Equal share in the ooh rota which may increase over busy periods. This is a leadership role at the heart of the practice and involves a considerable amount of veterinary farm work as well as the running of the farm team. The daily pressures of practice life including rotas, vehicles and staff issues can fall at your door, you should be prepared for a busy but engaging role with never two days being the same.

About Us

Forth Valley Vets was established in 2014 as a practice specialising in large animal veterinary work, formed from the merger of a few long established, local mixed practices. Our farm client base is split evenly between dairy, beef and sheep giving excellent variety with progressive farmers who work closely with us to improve their farm health and performance. The move from mixed species to specialising in large animals has allowed us to invest in top quality equipment and provide vets with dedication to large animal medicine who all have a high level of expertise. We have been mindful to maintain the client bond that smaller practices offer and are very proud of the close working relationships we form with our clients. We are expanding and will be looking to build new premises over this year and next.

Applicant Requirements

Management experience is not essential as there is support from the Business Support Manager and a development programme available. However, a calm and friendly approach to situations is required as well as being open, approachable, and trustworthy. Being an experienced Farm Vet is also important in your leadership and guidance role. You need to have the confidence to deal with challenging situations, have good organisational skills and be able to problem solve on the move. The most valuable characteristic you can possess for this role is the ability to deal with people and clients on a one to one and small group basis. We will pay above the market average for the right candidate, but the salary is unlikely to the most attractive thing about the role for you.
