Veterinary Surgeon required at Gatehouse Veterinary Group

The Role

We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. This role is based over 4 days per week, no OOH and Saturdays worked on a rota.

We have a varied case load including accepting orthopaedic referrals and we manage a good range of surgical cases including exotics. The majority of cases are managed in house where possible and although you will have no OOH’s duties, our hospital facilities boast 24-hour nursing to enable overnight inpatient care.

About Us

Gatehouse Vets are a wonderful three site group with one main hospital site. Our hospital is a gold friendly cat practice and our Haworth branch has just been awarded silver. We are a training practice, part of the practice standards scheme with outstanding RCVS awards. Our practices are well equipped, and we boast individual species wards (cat, dog and exotics).

We have well-equipped sites including a state of the art ultrasound machine and EPOC. We are also excited about our fantastic new Bingley premises and facilities due to be finished this year! We are big on personal development and currently have a veterinary surgeon with cardiac interest, a veterinary surgeon completing her medical certificate and two veterinary surgeons completing their surgical certificate. We actively encourage an environment for personal and professional development where you are able to follow up your own cases and pursue your own interests.

Applicant Requirements

The right candidate needs to have surgical competence. They also need to be able to carry out consultations and take sole charge of the main hospital or the well-equipped branch practice if needed. Good communication skills and the drive to move the practice forward are essential. A good team ethic is vital, and the right candidate will be expected to work closely with our excellent nursing team to provide outstanding inpatient care.
