This is a unique opportunity to be able to work on the Island of Guernsey, Channel Islands, that enables the very best in work-life balance. We are a very successful small animal surgery with certificate holders in most fields. The hospital is modern and extremely well equipped, including 16 slice CT, visiting MRI, ultrasound, digital X-ray, full idexx suite of in-house labs, separate dental with dental x-ray, isolation ward, dog and cat wards, 2 theatres and minimal invasive surgery including arthtroscopy /laprascopy/ thorascopy plus separate wellness center with laser and hydrotherapy.

The team is made of up of 25 colleagues including 7 full and part time vets. Les van Blerk has 20 years’ experience and is the Partner of Guernsey Vets4Pets. He is a RCVS recognized advanced practitioner in surgery, as well as a certificate holder in advanced soft tissue and advanced orthopedic surgery.

Person Specification

We are looking for a vet who is highly skilled and is either a surgery certificate holder, a RCVS recognized advanced practitioner or working toward surgical certificate. Key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care. You will be a strong team player and enjoy the variety the role will bring. Les doesn’t just invest in his surgery and equipment; he actively encourages additional learning and supports colleagues to continue their further education and career through paid cpd/certificate and possible partnership potential in the future. This role is full time, 42 hours per week with a weekend rota.
