About us:

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.

We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work.

Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The role:

We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team as Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse at our busy hospital based in Richmond.

As a Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practice with your team and helping to support and develop the student nurses in your practice. You will be able to focus on patients, as there is a theatre and hospital ward.

Previous small animal experience is required. Ideally, you would have management experience but we are happy to support the right candidate with management training.

This is a full time permanent position, covering 40 hours a week over 5 days. This shift pattern includes 1:4 full weekends. There is no reception work involved in this role, as we have a strong team of receptionists at the hospital. On-call is also minimal for this role, as we have a specialist night team in place.

Medivet is growing rapidly and it is an exciting time to join us - we encourage growth and development within your role and are truly committed to help our Medivet family members achieve their goals.

Salary and Benefits

Competitive salary of up to £31,000

Generous CPD allowance, CPD leave and in-house CPD available

Ongoing training is provided as relevant to your role

RCVS and VDS fees paid

5 weeks paid annual leave

Exclusive company discounts and rewards

A friendly, supportive environment within a rewarding role

Skills and experience:

You must be a Veterinary Nurse who is registered with the RCVS.

Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required.

Branch:

Medivet 24 Hour Richmond provides a range of services, including MRI, key hole surgery, orthopaedics, acupuncture, specialist ultrasound and laser surgery. As it is the 24 Hour hospital in this region, it regularly supports other practices in the area with their patients.

The team consists of a large nursing team (8 nurses), as well as experience certificate holders and veterinary surgeons. There is a high case load, so everyone is able to get hands on. This hospital has been awarded a Gold standard of patient care and strives to maintain this quality, as well as provide exceptional client care.

The practice is based a 7 minute drive away from the famous Kew Gardens and is a short drive from Richmond Park - the home of the Isabella Plantation gardens and free roaming deer! Chiswick Bridge is also a short walk away, which provides stunning views of the River Thames.
