This multi-disciplinary referral centre based in the county of Somerset are looking for a Small Animal Medicine Clinician with experience to join their multi-vet team.

You will be confident and competent to work up complex medicine cases including referrals from within the group and other external referring practices. Experience of a range of diagnostic imaging modalities will be an advantage, but training will be provided where necessary. 

This role involves a 3 to 4 day working week, plus on call approx 1 in 7 weekends and weekday nights.
You will be based at the main Veterinary Hospital and join the referral team currently including 4 surgeons, 2 medics and an ophthalmologist (this vacancy is for a third medicine clinician). The team is supported by a team of dedicated referral nurses. 

Facilities at this well-established referral centre include 16 slice Siemens CT, MRI, ultrasound and video endoscopy.  Clinicians have access to same day reference laboratory testing, specialist image interpretation and are supported by a team of experienced referral nurses that includes diploma holders.  The Vets disciplines include internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology plus soft tissue, orthopaedic and spinal surgery.

The successful candidate will be a specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine or an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. Small Animal Medicine certificate holders close to becoming eligible to register as Advanced Practitioners are welcome to apply. An opportunity to lead the referral medicine team may be available for the right candidate. You will share the teams philosophy of practicing to the highest clinical standards and providing excellent client care.
