An opportunity has arisen to join our well-established practice in County Durham. We are a friendly and supportive practice with an experienced team of Vets. You will be working alongside a team of 3 RVNs and 2 Student Nurses. The role has no out of hours however you will be required to work weekends on a rota basis. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our high quality of client care is maintained to our small animal clients. Castle Vets prides itself on being at forefront of companion animal care.
We are extremely proud of the CVS Graduate Programme and have supported over 500 brilliant graduates with the programme since 2015. We are always learning and working hard to constantly evolve the programme each year – in order to provide you with the best support and opportunity for your first years in practice.
We have over 500 practice sites across the UK and have just created a number of new opportunities for Graduates within our small animal division.
This is what some of our vets on the CVS Graduate Programme say
“When you're working in practice, what you are responsible for hits you - that animal under anaesthetic is your responsibility, it's on you. All the teaching in the world can't prepare you for that moment. That's why the support on the graduate programme and in practice is so vital.”
“The New Graduate Programme has been a fantastic learning opportunity. It has helped me to hit the ground running with a wide-range of CPD and an opportunity to meet fellow New Graduate colleagues to share the highs and lows of our first year in practice.”
These are just some of the benefits of the programme
A starting salary of £31,000, rising after year one to £33,500 and then again after year two to £36,500 (plus the chance to earn added bonus)
- 10 CPD days a year covering both clinical and non-clinical skills and tailored to your clinical role
- A committed and trained clinical buddy working alongside you in practice, with regular meetings to support your transition from student to qualified vet.
- The option to complete a short elective of your choice, for example in OOHs at our dedicated ECC centres and/or specific disciplines at one of our referral hospitals.
- Once you have completed the programme, the opportunity to mentor future graduates, undertake a fully funded certificate, remain where you are and continue to develop into an outstanding GP or to pursue a different career path in referrals, laboratories or a range of non-clinical roles.
