A fantastic opportunity to gain Official Veterinarian qualifications for a veterinary career in the UK
After the great success of its five earlier sponsored Official Veterinarian Course at the world-leading University of Bristol, Eville & Jones is funding fifteen more places for talented and ambitious vets on the next one.
Authorised by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the hugely prestigious programme is run by the internationally respected Bristol Veterinary School - recently badged one of the world’s best by the highly respected OS World University Rankings by Subject 2020.
This fantastic opportunity to advance your career will see you study online at home, 9th to 20th November, before taking your pick from a wide range of top OV posts across England and Wales, available straight away. Our unbeatable employment package includes attractive salary and benefits, accommodation, car, and all IT and equipment needed.
You must be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) for enrolment on the course. In addition, an Eville & Jones OV needs excellent written and spoken English; tangible leadership skills; and an ability to work unsupervised, while building sound relationships with internal and external customers.
Our vets provide Official Controls (OC) in red and white meat slaughterhouses across England and Wales to verify that produce is safe for human consumption. They give technical advice, direction and leadership to plant inspection teams - ensuring efficient, uninterrupted, consistent delivery of OC and associated, legally defined, safeguards.
OVs in the UK enjoy more regular hours than practice vets, for better work-life balance. As key members of the biggest, best qualified field force in Europe, we know our vets are the most important part of our company – and a dedicated support team looks after them extremely well.
Continuous training and development ensures the most relevant, up-to-the minute skills and being with the largest supplier of veterinarians to the UK meat industry means you have real career prospects that will only be limited by your talent and drive.
Stop press: we also need qualified and RCVS-registered vets across England and Wales to register with us as OV locums to cover for inhouse staff. Flexibility to cover days or weeks is needed, with short- and long-term, full- and part-time positions available up and down the country.
To apply for a place on the OV course or register as an OV locum, email via the apply button or call Eliza Jankowska on 0044 113 2840400.
