Job Details

This friendly independent small animal practice in North East Manchester are looking for 2 confident veterinary surgeons to join their 7 vet team.

This well equipped practice is highly regarded in the local community and has its own dedicated OOH facility as the team are committed to providing continuity of care that can be relied upon 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
They offer a wide range of general practice treatments (including high level orthopaedics and endo-surgery) and operate at a high clinical standard, the business constantly works to raise standards of veterinary care in the region and as a nurse training practice, continue to develop and invest in their team as part of their ethos.

The role includes a broad range of first opinion practice from consulting to surgery to lab work-ups; all consults are 15 minute appointments with double appointments as appropriate.
The position is open to both full and part time applicants. Full time will be a 40 hour week over either 4x 10hr day or 5x 8hr day shifts, which are rota’d between from 07h45 to 19h30 and you will always be supported by the friendly team of RVNs’.

The Vets work as a team with their own, separately staffed OOH facility – they have a team onsite 24 hours a day. Therefore there are no Out Of Hour shifts with this role. The weekend Saturday hours (8am - 4pm) are shared proportionately, approx 1:4 (moving to 1:6 when fully staffed). After a Saturday worked you will be given the following Monday off as time in lieu and so will always have a 2 day weekend.

With no targets or upselling pressure, the position is about offering excellent quality and service to our loyal client base.

The successful candidate will be someone who takes pride in being an excellent general practitioner with ability in all areas of veterinary practice. You must be confident and competent in routine surgery and consulting, and an area of interest may be considered for the development of the successful candidate. The candidate will have excellent communication and people skills and enjoy the variety and diversity of small animal practice. You will also share the teams belief that good veterinary care requires both a partnership with the owner alongside the clinical skills of the veterinary team.

All positions are permanent and in return the team offer excellent support and mentoring, with certificates encouraged.
