Mixed Vet

We are looking for a vet to join us, due to a long-standing colleague moving to pastures new.

Hay Vets is an independent 7 vet mixed practice situated in the beautiful Welsh border market town of Hay-on-Wye. This wonderful vibrant market town offers great schools, excellent cultural life and the world famous book festival. The River Wye and the Brecon Beacons National Park offer a stunning environment with ready access to range of outdoor pursuits.

Ours is genuinely mixed, independent practice. The job offers support from an experienced team which includes three certificate holders. There is scope to pursue further study or your own field of interest and to carve out a long-term role here. We are committed to supporting our vets, no matter how experienced, and are familiar with mentoring new graduates. An interest and aptitude for equine and large animal work is essential to thrive in this role.

The on-call rota is fully backed up with no telephone duties. A 4.5 day week is standard, with a long-weekend (Thursday night-Monday) following a weekend on first call.
