Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire & West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centres
We at the Scottish SPCA are looking for a new Veterinary Surgeon to join our team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons and 11 Nurses caring for disadvantaged furred, feathered and scaled animals looking for new homes on a 1 year fixed term contract. This position is based at our Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire & West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centres.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the 2013 Scottish Charity of the Year and make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year.
This position would suit someone who enjoys surgery and may be looking for more sociable hours. Hours of work are 15 hours per week, between 8 am to 5 pm, although your start and finishing times may vary due to the volume and number of patients being cared for, 4 days out of 14 days on a group rota, to include occasional weekend work. On call duties are shared between the Vet team.
We have a good range of equipment including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, modern dental equipment and in-house blood testing. We are sevoflurane throughout.
The full time annual salary is £38,000.
Start date will be approximately March 2020.
Please note that this position will require you to undertake a Standard Disclosure Scotland check.
