The BSAVA is looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and editorial skills for the post of Editor of its scientific journal, the Journal of Small Animal Practice (JSAP). JSAP is a monthly peer reviewed journal publishing research in all aspects of small animal clinical practice.

The Editor will play a key role in further developing JSAP as a leading international journal in its field. A thorough knowledge of veterinary medicine is essential. The successful candidate will have practical experience of publishing in peer reviewed scientific journals and a good understanding of the publishing process. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite.

This a fixed term post with a maximum of 5 years, renewable annually. The role is expected to take at least 12-14 hours per week. The Editor is supported by an Editorial Board and staff at BSAVA headquarters. The successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from their own office, but should be available for occasional meetings and BSAVA Congress. The post attracts an honorarium.

The successful candidate would be expected to take up the position from April 2020.
