Job Details
Veterinary Surgeon opportunity in independent practice in West Sussex!
Package Overview:
- Salary: £33-£50K depending on experience level
- 4 day week
- 2 professional subscriptions, OOH bonus, Christmas bonus, CPD allowance, pension contribution, perk-box membership, staff outings and a day off for your birthday.
- VDS Insurance cover is also provided
Hours:
- Approx 40 hours over 4 days. 8am-6pm/8am-7pm
- OOH: 1:12.5 (OOH commission)
- 1 bank holiday approx every 18 months
- Weekends: 2 Saturdays in 12.5 wks and 1 Sunday in 12.5 wks
- If working a Saturday, you do the Friday night on call before and if working the Sunday, you do the on call on the Sunday night.
- Consult times: 10 minutes (5 per hour, so averages out at 12 mins) Receptionists will book double appointments if they think it is needed.
- Surgery Hours: 8.30am - 7pm Mon-Fri. Sat 8.30am - 1pm / 2pm - 6pm. Sun 10am - 1pm. (branches not open weekends and have slightly shorter surgery hours)
Practice info:
- 15 (12 FTE) Vet team. The majority work at all 3 sites.
- 16 RVNs plus several SVNs and ANAs
- Specialist in House equipment: Main hospital and one branch have Digital Xray, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Cryo surgery, Radio surgery. Fully equipped lab.
- A room in a shared flat may be possible.
- Theatre Hours: 8.30am - 6pm (shorter hours at the branches)
Experience level:
- Happy to take a new grad. They are part of the Vetsure Graduate Program and have already taken on several new grads in the past.
- 3 of their vets are certificate holders and take referrals for more complicated medical and surgical issues.
